Grant Allocations

The grant allocation process involves the following steps.

Your application for funding to the CatWalk Trust will go through a modified version of the Neurological Foundation’s grant process system.

Primarily the steps are as follows:

The Trust will call for expressions of interest.

  • Research proposals that the meet the Trust’s criteria will be invited to submit full applications using a modified version of the Neurological Foundation’s project grant application form.
  • The Neurological Foundation’s Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) will peer review all applications. In addition, the applications will be referred to overseas international experts in the field who will report to the SAC. The SAC will then peer review all applications and grade them in order of merit.
  • The SAC will then make recommendations to the CatWalk Trust’s Grants Approval Committee who will make the final decision regarding allocation of CatWalk Trust funds for research. Although the final decision is that of the Grants Approval Committee, they will rely heavily on the expert advice from the SAC.
  • If recipients are successful there will be a public announcement as to the nature of the research and the amount funded.
  • All recipients, whether successful or not, will receive copies of peer reviews and feedback reports.
