Research Grants

Funding increased to $100,000

The CatWalk Trust, founded in 2005, is dedicated to the financial support of researchers who aim to contribute to the search for a cure for Spinal Cord Injuries. The
trust was founded in 2005 by Catriona Williams who was one of New Zealand’s
leading international equestrian riders and is now confined to a wheelchair
following a riding accident in 2002.

Whilst there are a number of organisations and research projects that provide valuable
and necessary rehabilitative support to those with Spinal Cord Injury, the
CatWalk Trust aims are specifically related to research for a cure.

While the Board of the CatWalk Trust will make final decisions regarding funding they
have enlisted the help of the Neurological Foundation of New Zealand to ensure
all applications for research funds are evaluated for their scientific merit and relevance to the aims of the Trust. All applications will be submitted to a peer review process.
